Why Your Business Can’t Afford to Ignore Podcasting Any Longer | #257
Jen: Every single entrepreneur I know is fighting for attention and far too many of them are losing. Why? Because they are focusing on short term content. Facebook, which has over 3 billion monthly active users, is the largest social media network in the world. I believe Facebook groups are part of a packaged power tool for growth, but they're not the only tool.
Jen: Your personal profile, not a page, is a place where people can get to know you more because people are craving connection with real people, not pages. That's why it's a great reason for you to consider how you can leverage Facebook to build relationships and for sales.
Jen: If your ideal clients are hanging out on Facebook, then there is a place in your business for Facebook. If your ideal clients are Gen Z and millennials. You might want to hang out on the third largest platform, Instagram, which comes in with 2 billion monthly users. If your ideal clients are there, then Insta may be an option for you. Do you know what's in between Facebook and Instagram?
Jen: Yep. You guessed it. It's YouTube! With two and a half billion monthly users. Now hear me on this. I am not promoting you need a video podcast. In fact, there's a lot of evidence to prove that it's not necessary. You decide if it makes sense for you to have an audio and a video podcast aligned with your business plan. This is how you figure out where you're going to post, how often you post, which platforms you need to use. In 2025, I'm growing my team, and as we grow, we will look at other spaces.
Jen: Right now, I'm on LinkedIn. Notice I didn't even mention that in the top three, I'm on LinkedIn and I'm on Facebook, and I have this [00:02:00] teeny, tiny, reluctant presence on Instagram. I haven't done a whole lot over there. No matter which platform I use, I won't pull the trigger on doing something new without a clear plan.
Jen: A time budget and a money budget for it. If you're a six-figure entrepreneur and you want to scale to seven, you don't need more content. You know what you do need. You need deeper connections with your audience. That's exactly what makes podcasting unique. You create those deeper connections with your voice.
Jen: Today I'm breaking down three strategic ways to use podcasting to scale beyond six figures, build trust, and close high ticket offers even in this uncertain economy.
Jen: Each episode of time to Simplify Podcasting is designed to expand time for you through the power of podcasting. You don't need to spend endless hours on the content hamster wheel where your content gets lost every time that feed refreshes.
Jen: Hey there, I'm Jen Rogers. I believe giving your audience the ability to listen to you on demand builds trust faster than any other social media tool. When you close that 18-inch gap between your listeners earbuds and their heart, you build connection. You close the trust gap.
Jen: My coach, Kelly Roach, has been teaching about this very thing for months now. She's also right there with me, extolling the value of podcasting. It is your most important power tool to generate wealth for your business. You can use your voice to create timeless content and close that trust gap.
Jen: that is exactly what I am doing with my show. Each week I show up to share with you how you can move the needle through the power of podcasting. Whether you host, guest, [00:04:00] or do both. I'm creating opportunities where you and I can grow together, whether it's inside the Virtual podcast school.
Jen: By the way, if you're not in there, get on inside that Facebook group. We've got some great things happening in there, whether it's through every episode I release, whether it is the Post I share on social media or the bootcamps I'm hosting in 2025. I am on a mission to help you leverage podcasting so we can grow together.
Jen: It's so much more fun when we grow together.
Jen: I believe there is a formula for creating a great podcast overall and episode by episode. You won't gain experience in the benefits of podcasting if you sit on the sidelines. So this is my invitation to you to join us inside the Virtual Podcast School.
Jen: If you're not sure you want to get in there yet, totally cool. I got you. If you are unclear how you can move the needle for podcasting on either side of the microphone, then snag the guide that will help you leverage podcasting.
Jen: If you're a host, grab the standard operating procedures for the host. And if you're a guest, be sure you grab the standard operating procedures for a guest. You can find either one of these at www.coachjenrogers.com/podcastsop .Be sure to snag yours.
Jen: Alright, are you ready?
Jen: Let’s break down those three strategic ways to use podcasting to scale beyond six figures, build trust, and close high ticket offers.
Jen: This is episode number 257 of Time to Simplify Podcasting. Let's rock and roll!
Jen: I love strategies, especially when they serve as a shortcut to getting good work done in less time.
Jen: How does your voice, the [00:06:00] power of your voice build authority? Well. Your voice builds trust faster than any other medium out there. And when you learn how to use it in podcasting, you will attract premium clients.
Jen: I used to think you could launch your podcast organically, never appear on social. And miraculously, people would type in those keywords, how to launch a podcast, and they would find my show and they would flock to my show and they would buy all my things and life would be grand.
That didn't happen. No, that did not happen. See, podcasting and podcasting, SEO is important and they are key elements for you to draw in your ideal clients. However, they're one component of your overall plan. Podcasting is a part of your trust, building, authority, building your credibility, your thought leadership, because you get to decide what you want to talk about. It's a collaborative genius tool when you invite key guests on your show that are complimentary to what you do and will serve your audience well. There are so many benefits to podcasting and it's easy to think about podcasting being at the top of the funnel.
And it is. You can also use podcasting to not just attract people at the top of the funnel, but to move them all the way through the funnel. This is the power of podcasting.
You! Your voice, your voice builds trust faster than any other medium, and that is how you attract premium clients. Listen, people buy from voices they trust. Hearing your voice. It builds instant credibility and it fosters emotional connection. It's why people binge hours of [00:08:00] podcasts at a time, but they won't read a long sales page.
So that's the first insight. People buy from voices they trust. The second insight into why your voice builds trust faster than any other medium. Podcasting makes you the voice in your space so you're not competing in the scrolling frenzy of social media likes and comments.
Instead, you become the expert people seek out. This is a way to position yourself above all of the noise that's out there. The third insight on why your voice builds trust faster than any other medium. I. Podcasts are lean in content. Your audience, they are listening to you. They're not scrolling past.
When they find you and they like you, you stay in their feed.. So they get a notification that it's time for your podcast, that a new episode of your podcast has released on their phone and their phones. They are, they go everywhere. So your. audience gets notice that it's time to hear another great message from you that's going to help them on their transformation journey.
So they're not just scrolling past. that means higher quality leads are making their way through your funnel because your listener is continuing to listen. How does this help you scale your business? Well, you'll stand out in your industry as a trusted expert.
You'll get some inbound opportunities, media opportunities, events, speaking gigs, other partnerships. You also attract pre-qualified leads who are already warmed up before they even book a call. Remember those podcast bootcamps I was sharing earlier?
I advertise them on episode after episode to invite people to come into the bootcamp.
Jen: The great thing about podcasting is it is [00:10:00] your strongest trust builder to draw people into your community.
Jen: For example, so far this year I've had two podcast bootcamps. When people come inside the bootcamp, they get one-on-one interaction with me, and there is zero risk for them. Why is there zero risk? Because they're basically checking me out. am I the real deal?
Jen: Am I going to show up in person virtually the way that I show up on the podcast? And when there's an incongruency between how you speak on your show. How you show up in person, that destroys the trust that you can build with your voice, your voice that draws them in. ensure that you are confident in not only your area of expertise and what you are sharing, but in the way that you're sharing it, that you're not mimicking someone else.
Jen: When you mimic the way someone else talks, you will. Well, I mean, you're going to make a lot of mistakes.
Jen: However, that's not the mistake we want to make. Okay. Alright, let's move on to the second strategy. Remember, you do not need more content. You need deeper connections with your audience. How do you get them? That's the power of long form podcasting content. It's, it can take people to the middle of the funnel for trust and nurturing.
Jen: It's not just repurposing. It is sharing your message in the way only you can, which is critical for high ticket sales and closing deals faster.. Here are three things to know about podcasting as a trust builder. This long form content, it creates a deeper trust, unlike those short posts that come and go at a rapid pace, podcasting will give your audience time to connect with how you think, what you value, and your expertise.
Jen: [00:12:00] When you listen to this show, you know, pretty quickly we're going to have some fun. Fun is a value I hold dear. even though I'm here recording all by myself, I do laugh at my own jokes. I have learned to think of you as I'm sharing this message with you.
Jen: Long form content creates deep trust and it shares. You have this opportunity to share how you think, what you value, and your expertise. It's like a private conversation with your best prospects because your listeners will spend 20 to 30 to 60 minutes with you per episode. That is absolutely unheard of in any other content format.
Jen: It's just unheard of. What a great opportunity. Podcasting shortens the sales cycle. When people spend hours consuming your content, they show up to sales calls already convinced that you are the expert, because not only are you sharing content, you are edutaining, you are sharing a little bit of your story each time.
Jen: You are inviting your audience to come on the journey with you, that you're in it together. You of course are educating them and you are giving calls to action. On every episode, you need to give calls to action at least three times. Once in the beginning, but not the very first thing. Okay? Not the very first thing. Give them a little lead time before you give a very simple call to action. And then somewhere in the middle,
Jen: I'm going to take advantage of issuing a call to action right here in the middle to model it for you, and also to check it off my podcasting framework list. Here's a call to action.
Jen: How does your podcasting long form content help you scale and grow your business? Well, it's going to warm up your leads faster because they're more ready to buy when they connect with you. It's educating your prospects at scale, so you [00:14:00] spend less time overcoming objections because you've been addressing them on episode after episode and it positions you as the trusted authority.
Jen: So clients seek you out instead of the other way around. I was recently having a conversation on LinkedIn about, uh, chasing clients, and I thought, gosh, You know when you play TAG and you're it and you're chasing after someone, what are they doing? Well, they're running as fast and as far away from you. We don't want that. We want to invite people to come in to work with us, just like I invite you to come in to work with me. If you are interested in launching your show and you would like to talk about how a private
Jen: 90-day podcast Sprint can work for you, then book a call with me. The link is in the show notes.
Jen: If you prefer to model my husband's clickity click method than head on over to www.coachjenrogers.com/VIPCoach .
Jen: I promise to share three strategies with you. as I've been sharing these with you, you know what stands out? That there are already six benefits to these two strategies. Did you catch them? One, you stand out in your industry as a trusted expert. Two, you get a lot more inbound opportunities.
Jen: Three. You attract pre-qualified leads. Four. You warm up your leads faster because they've been listening to you. You educate prospects at scale because you've been overcoming their objections with episode after episode, and your podcast positions you as the trusted authority. So that game of tag doesn't happen where you're chasing after clients and they're running away from you.
Jen: Okay, Let's dive into the last strategy, and we're going to find that I have three more benefits to add to those six. Emphasizing how powerful these three strategies are. [00:16:00] the last strategy?
Jen: It is all about relationships. Relationship building occurs at every stage of the funnel, and they lead to high ticket conversions. think about it for a moment. How could you use podcasting to build deep strategic relationships that also generate revenue? Here are three ways I propose you can do that.
Jen: the power of a good podcast guest. Your best guest can be clients, partners, or referral sources. when you book them strategically, you are developing your business at scale. A lot of times there's reciprocity involved too. I've been asked to be on shows and then they want to come and guest on my show as well.
Jen: And the same can happen for you Second, podcasting builds relationships without any pressure. What other relationship have you been in where you have not felt any pressure? Listen, instead of jumping into a sales pitch, a podcast interview, it builds rapport naturally, and it makes conversions seamless.
Jen: You are more likely to get a referral from someone who guests on your show and you treat them well, that you work on it. That it is a collaborative effort where you both benefit from the opportunity. That's how you make conversions seamless.
Jen: Finally, your podcast listeners, they do become your high-ticket buyers. They feel like they know you before they ever work with you. So by the time they reach out, by the time they book a call with you, they're already mostly in, they've got a few questions. So it's really up to you to respond to where they are.
Jen: Knowing they feel as though they are in relationship with you already. How does this help you scale? Well, it turns guest interviews into high ticket sales. Some hosts will invite their ideal prospects as guests, and then they [00:18:00] continue that conversation off the air.
Jen: It also creates a great network of partners and referrals because every guest expands your reach and credibility, and it generates inbound leads who already trust you. Because podcast listeners convert into high ticket clients much faster than any cold lead ever could.
There's one more thing before we go. It's like a bonus tip. It's my belief. It's what I believe to be true and it's what I am experiencing in my own podcasting journey.
In this episode, I responded to several objections you might have about podcasting because I've shared with you how you can close the trust gap faster. How you can raise your authority, your credibility, how your leads are warmed up before they ever get on a call with you.
I modeled how you could use boot camps as an example to get people in the room with you so they can experience really doing life with you. What it would be like to work with you one-on-one or in your group cohort.
I believe you can create and launch your own podcast and spend less time creating content and the level the quality of your content will go up because you will research what it is that you want to share in your episode, and you'll also draw from all of your expertise that you have with your client experiences, all the knowledge you've gained since you've been on your own transformation journey, because that's what podcasting is. Podcasting is sharing your story and inviting your listener to come partner with you on their transformation journey.
And that is relationship building at its best.
Jen: Are you ready to escape the content hamster wheel and build a seven figure lead generation machine? [00:20:00] Then start by downloading guides that will help you do that very thing. They're the podcast SOPs, the standard operating procedures for hosts and guests.
Jen: Listen, if you host, you definitely want to guest too. These guides will show you what you need most right now. Head on over to www.coachjenrogers.com/podcastsop to get started. In upcoming episodes, I'll share the truth about podcasting, ROI, and we'll talk about the biggest podcasting myths that are likely keeping you stuck.
Jen: Between now and then, take action on leveraging your podcast every single day. You'll find out exactly what you can do inside those SOPs. If you do nothing else, ask someone to recommend your show to a friend who needs what you have.
Jen: By the way, would you do that for me? Share this show with an entrepreneur you know, who wants to bust through podcasting and leverage it to grow through the power of long form content. I'd appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Jen: P. S. If you're like me and want to support other podcasters on the way, use your voice to leave a great review of the show on your favorite podcasting app. It will get this podcast out to more people who understand that podcasting is the platform for powerful trust building long form content.
Jen: Uh, as I think about it, one more quick thing, okay. So I've encouraged you, let's recap here. I've encouraged you to go get the podcasting SOP, and I've asked you to share this show with someone in need, and I want to remind you of one other thing. So I've been talking with people about what's coming next. You know what's coming next? This is your save the date invitation [00:22:00] for May 13th, where we kick off the Profitable Podcast Bootcamp, where I will walk you through exactly how to launch a podcast that builds trust, drives demand, and
Jen: Helps you close high ticket sales even in this uncertain market. Alright, God bless you. I will catch you in the next profitable episode.
